Randy Couture will be the first MMA fighter to face off against a true professional boxer on August 28th, 2010. This UFC 118 event is already packed with some great fights, but this one stands out, simply because the MMA vs Boxing bickering has been going on for a long time now. MMA and boxing worlds will collide when MMA legend Randy Couture will face off against boxing veteran James Toney at the UFC 118 Event headlined by Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn.

Randy Couture defeated Brandon Vera at the UFC 105 event, and again proved to all of us that he can still throw down, no matter how old he is. Couture hasn’t won in the light heavyweight division since 2005. Vera knocked Couture down in the second round but The Natural was able to persevere and finish the fight to get the judges’ decision. MMA fights have many unexpected results, and this one was a surprise to Vera.

Randy Couture will face “Minotauro” Nogueira Saturday, August 28th 2009, at UFC 102. This will be a great fight as both of these fighters are highly skilled and immesnsly experienced in the octagon. Couture is looking to win and hopefully get another shot at the heavyweight title currently held by Brock Lesnar.
